Are you planning on selling your Austin Texas home but you’re concerned about its small closets?
The good news is that even though the closets in your home may be small you can make them look big by following these simple tips.
Declutter
It doesn’t matter if you’ve been living in your home for one year, or 50 years, every Austin home has some clutter in the closets so the first thing you should do is work on decluttering on closet at a time. Create piles for things that you want to keep, donate and throw away then take action because the whole decluttering process won’t take as long as you think!
Paint
After decluttering your closet, the next thing that you want to do is grab a can of neutral paint and start painting the inside of your closet. The paint color should ideally be off-white or white because these colors will make your closet look bigger than closets which are painted with darker colors.
Organize
Once you’ve painted and decluttered your closet, the next thing you want to do is organize the items that you decide to keep. Thankfully, organization is easy because you can easily buy totes, baskets and other organization tools from your neighborhood Walmart and the whole process will cost you less than $200.
Display
Do you have a nice collection of hats, shoes or 80’s acid wash jeans? If so, part of the process of selling a home is making it look lived in so grab your best pieces of clothing and hang them in your closet so that when a buyer reviews the closet it’s going to look like someone lives in the house and uses that closet.
