Austin Texas has many great music festivals during the course of a normal year including the South by Southwest (SXSW) music Festival which just wrapped up a few weeks ago. Thankfully there are more music festivals to come including the Old Settlers Music Festival which will be held in Austin from April 14- April 17, 2006.

About The old Settlers Music Festival

The Old Settlers Music Festival is as much part of Austin music history as the South by Southwest Music Festival since it started back in 1987 and was first held at Old Settlers Park in Austin. Since the late 80’s it’s grown to a nationally known music festival which has attracted awesome bands from across the country who specialize in roots music, Americana and so much more.

Some of the musicians who have headlined the Old Settlers Music Festival in the past include Joan Osborne, Doc Watson, Patty Griffin and The Mavericks.

What makes this music festival different than others across country is that it still maintains the laid-back vibe it first had in the 1980s and the festival is held every year just outside of Austin at the Salt Lake Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch.

When you attend the Old Settlers Music Festival in Austin you can expect days of music, jam sessions and so much more.
