The Austin bats are one of the most well-known attractions that tourists come to Austin for every single year. If you haven’t watched the bats yet come to the Congress Street Bridge at dusk from March through early November to watch them leave from under the bridge around 7:45 PM in search of food.
#4 – Go Turtle Watching at Austin’s Turtle Pond
Got kids who love turtles? If so, you should go turtle watching at Austin’s turtle pond. Located at the LBJ Presidential Library, the turtle pond features a wide variety of snapping turtles so bring your camera and be ready to enjoy another iconic Austin attraction.
#5 – Visit Lady Bird Lake
If you love kayaking, canoeing, biking, hiking or walking, Lady Bird Lake in Austin Texas is another great spot for you to get your workout in while enjoying nature. Besides all of the fun you can have on the water Lady Bird lake also has great trails too and it’s a perfect destination for hiking, walking and biking.
Located at 1100 Congress Ave in Austin, the State Capital should be an essential trip for history buffs and for anyone who wants to sneak a peek into one of the most iconic buildings in Texas.
#7 – Go Mural Hunting
Last of all, but most important is for you to go hunting for murals in Austin, and there’s a wide variety to choose from, including the “How Small Are You?” mural, to the “I love you so much” mural. After checking out the murals in Austin head over to Castle Hill to view the excellent graffiti art painted by artists from around the world since it’s a safe space for graffiti artists to work without having to look over their shoulders for the police.
