Are you searching for family-friendly things to do in Austin Texas? If so, you’ve come to the right place!
In this article, we will share you with several family-friendly things you can do in Austin this summer.
Peter Pan Mini Golf
Located at 1207 Barton Springs Rd in Austin, Peter Pan Mini Golf is one of the best family-friendly things to do in Austin since just about everyone can play mini golf and since prices are also affordable ($5 to $11 per person) this iconic Austin destination is a great place to get out and have fun with your family.
Marvel at the Central Library
Since opening last year, Austin’s flagship library branch has become a community hub, thanks to its impressive event space, a curated gallery, and a rooftop garden offering some of the best views in the city. Its on-site cafe, Cookbook, features a rotating menu inspired by works on the library’s shelves, and with Master Sommelier Craig Collins directing the beverage program, you can expect an above-average selection of wine (yes, alcohol is served). Visit even just to check out the building, with its light-filled atrium and oddly arranged staircases. And, oh yeah, you can check out a book or two while you’re there.
Sing along at Heartsong
Tired of your toddler endlessly requesting rounds of “Wheels on the Bus”? Expand your little one’s repertoire with a class at Heartsong Music, which offers music education for babies up to second-graders. Summer sessions are eight weeks long, meeting once a week for 45 minutes. Try a free demo class June 6, 7, or 9. Prices vary.
Entertain the little ones at Children’s Day Art Park
This Wednesday morning series includes an instrument zoo (where children can touch and play instruments), an art tent, and performances by local musicians, dancers, magicians, mimes, and other performers. Price: children, 50 cents; adults, free.
Get hands-on at the Thinkery
Prices for the interactive children’s science museum: ages 2 and up, $12; under 2, free.
