CNBC based their ranking on data from government and private institutions including the evaluation of other key business criteria like strength of the local workforce, taxes, regulatory climate, cost of living, location and access to capital.

This ranking by CNBC is another major win for Austin Texas as more people from cities like San Francisco and San Jose area considering moving here to escape the high cost of living, housing and taxes in those cities.

During the process of completing their study CNBC found that quality of life, regulation and taxes were some of the most important things that entrepreneurs were looking for in a city where they were planning on starting their businesses.
