Are you searching for information on Austin Texas Restaurants? If so, you’ve come to the right place!
There’s no doubt that we have a lot of great restaurants to choose from in the Austin area that’s why in this article we will break down some of the very best local restaurants that you shouldn’t miss.
Best Restaurants In Austin
Franklin’s barbecue even though I’ve only been twice because of the line. I’d consider myself a pretty good barbecue aficionado, and I thought the hype would be too much, but it blew me away. You’ll always find people who’ve been waiting in camping chairs outside since 5 am. It’s part of the fun, but chilly in the winter, so they give people hot coffee or beers in the queues. It looks like you’d imagine a barbecue place to look - a big shack with the smokers out back. And the food is good because of its incredible flavors and textures.
Torchy's Tacos has become a little corporate but it started in a truck and is now everywhere. It’s absolutely Tex-Mex, and hardly cheffy at all, but the food is tasty as heck, and the restaurant has loads of personality, which I love. Order the fried chicken taco ‘classy’ with salad or ‘trashy’ with melted cheese on top. It’s very Texan. There’s also a new food hall, Fairground, which is Austin’s first proper food market and on my hit-list for the next visit.
Contigo or Jeffreys. Contigo is just so Austin - where Texas ranch food meets a few Mexican ingredients, all set on an outdoor terrace under strung lights. And it has the freshness, sophistication and farm-to-table values real foodies will enjoy. Jeffreys is an institution – where you’d go to celebrate or treat someone who really knows their food and wine. I also might go to the Driskill Hotel bar for a nightcap as it’s very historic and very Texas.
