See our 8 step process for The Home Buying Experience
Beginning your home search can feel like an overwhelming and nervewracking task.
At The Kent Redding Group, we like to make it very easy for our potential buyers to understand the steps that we take with you in order to find your dream home!
We broke it down into these 8 steps:
Let’s meet for coffee and talk about your must-have home requirements. Things to consider… proximity to work, school districts, number of beds/baths and whether you'd like your home to be move-in ready. Once we get the basic framework of what you’re looking for, we’ll walk you through each step of the home buying process and answer any questions you have.
The Austin Market moves quickly so it’s important to be pre-approved before we start viewing homes. We wouldn’t want you to miss the opportunity to purchase your dream home. This is a vital step in the home buying process. We work closely with top-notch Lenders and would be happy to introduce to our most trusted vendors to get this process started.
Our website syndicates directly with the MLS so the INSTANT a new home that fits your criteria comes on the market you’ll be notified via email. Be sure to let us know if one (or more) jump out so we can schedule a showing right away!
Here’s where the buying process gets really fun. We’ll go to local open houses and schedule viewings of the homes that you’ve loved from our listing alerts. We’ll talk how the budget will work and make sure that we find you the perfect home.
A little scary, but very exciting! Three things can happen when putting in an offer on a house: the offer is accepted, it’s rejected, or you get a counteroffer. We’ll walk you through each of those possibilities and how to handle them. When the offer is accepted, it’s time to get your financing in order and move forward to the next step!
The sellers accepted your offer, and the home is going through appraisal and inspection. These are the last steps before you get the keys to your home! The appraisal guarantees that the price of the home matches the condition of the home. While the inspection makes sure that everything in the home is functioning properly and there are no major issues inside.
It’s time to dot the I’s and cross the T’s because you’re closing on your home! This process includes going through all of the final paperwork and signing your name a lot. Remember to bring all of the paperwork you’ve collected along the way, and your down payment.
Grab a bottle of champagne and toast to your new home! Congratulations, you’re a homeowner!
