About The Austin Disaster Relief Network

The Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) has deployed Emotional and Spiritual care teams to help more than 100 families from Rockport, Texas directly impacted by flooding. Volunteer social ambassadors will be on hand to bus the eldery and special needs families to local stores to shop for clothing, hygiene items and emergency necessities. Gift cards will be distributed to families along with toys, coloring books, hygiene kits and collected items. ADRN is gearing up to deploy additional teams in the days to come to assist survivors.

Working through the weekend, ADRN’s Call Center has answered more than 450 calls from survivors from the coast as well as people who are volunteering to help. ADRN is continuing to receive monetary donations to provide support for the survivors. These funds will be distributed in the form of gift cards, emergency housing, emergency transportation and/or building materials to meet immediate and long-term needs.

ADRN is coordinating closely with Red Cross of Central Texas, providing volunteers for shelter staffing within the Greater Austin area. Local congregations from ADRN’s network of more than 175 churches are also preparing to sponsor survivor families through ADRN’s Disaster Relief Shepherd program to guide them through the recovery process.

HOPE FAMILY THRIFT STORE SURVIVOR DRIVE In order to meet the needs of survivors, ADRN’s Hope Family Thrift Store’s receiving dock with be open to receive survivor donations Monday – Saturday, 10AM – 5PM at 1122 E 51st Street from 10-5PM. Delivery trucks have been deployed to distribute goods to local shelters in Greater Austin area and will continue as need increases.

Items needed include:

New undergarments (all sizes, children and adult) •

New socks (all sizes, children and adult)

Toiletries (ie: shampoo, facewash, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)

New bed pillows and New blankets

Cleanup supplies and Black trash bags

Mops and buckets

Utility knives and Leather work gloves

Inflatable mattresses

Hand sanitizer

Box fans

Clothing is not needed – ADRN will distribute the abundance of previously-donated clothing to survivors

DONATIONS NEEDED Monetary donations, in the form of financial funds, are needed at this time to help ADRN provide support to survivors impacted by the storm.
