It’s hard to believe that 4th of July 2016 is already here! One of the many great things about celebrating the 4th of July in Austin is that there’s always plenty of fun things to do including the following.

Fireworks

You can expect Austin to celebrate the 4th of July in a big way with our annual 4th of July concert and fireworks, be sure to get Austin Symphony Orchestra at Auditorium because the concert starts at 8:30 pm with the fireworks scheduled for 9:30 pm.

Besides fireworks in Downtown Austin you can also view fireworks displays around the Austin area including the following locations:

  •          Bee Cave - Hill Country Galleria - 6:30 pm.
  •          Buda - City Park – 7:00 pm
  •          San Marcos - San Marcos River at Plaza Park – 6:00 pm
  •          Round Rock - July Fourth Frontier Days Celebration – This event starts at 10:00 am.
  •          Pflugerville - Pflugerville Lake – 6:00 pm

Besides these locations you can also view fireworks in the Austin area at: Cedar Park, Bastrop, Lago Vista and Leander.

Willie Nelson’s 4th Of July Picnic

Who doesn’t love Willie Nelson right? This event will be held at the Austin360 Amphitheater and starts at 11:00 am.

Food

What would the 4th of July be without food? Don’t miss the 6th annual corn dog eating contest at Black Sheep Lodge. Entry fee is $20 and a portion of the proceeds/sales from this event will be donated to Austin Pets Alive.
