AUSTIN, TX. – With weekend one of the Austin City Limits music festival officially here many people may not know what to see and do in Austin especially if they are here for the first time attending ACL that’s why in this post we will provide you with our “survival guide” so you will know where to go, what to see and do in Austin over the next two weekends for the 2016 Austin City Limits music festival.
ACL Weekend One – September 30th Through October 2nd
As of 9/27/16 three day passes are sold out but one day passes are still available!
Weekend one is going to be huge because legendary English alternative rock band Radiohead will be headlining followed by Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, Major Lazer and tons of other great bands.
Where to Stay in Austin:
Right now many of our local hotels and motels are sold out for the Austin City Music Festival but you can still find rooms available locally if you book your stay online through websites like Kayak.com or hotels.com.
Where to Eat in Austin:
The good thing about Austin is that there are a wide variety of restaurants for you to enjoy in the area including: General Tso’boy, Jinya Ramen Bar, Ola Poke and L’Oca D’Oro.
When you’re in Austin don’t forget to take some time out to see some of the other cool things to do in the area like watching the Austin Bats, search for treasures at Uncommon Objects, or grab a coffee at Spiderhouse.
Austin City Limits Weekend Two – October 7th Through October 9th
Radiohead returns to headline weekend two of the 2016 Austin City Limits Festival and with them you can also expect to see many other HUGE acts including: Band of Horses, Willie Nelson, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, LL Cool J, Asleep at the Wheel, the Chainsmokers and the Coldwar Kids.
Cool Austin Hotels:
Some of the coolest hotels in Austin that you should consider for weekend two of ACL include the Heywood Hotel, Hotel Ella, Lone Star Court and Kimber Modern.
Austin Restaurants: If you’re in Austin for the weekend the only bummer is that you won’t be able to eat at all of the restaurants here so some of the essential restaurants you should try include: Szechuan House, Apis Restaurant & Apiary, Din Ho Chinese BBQ and Epicerie. There’s also a mix of 24 hour restaurants in Austin as well including: Jims Restaurant, Taco Cabana and Magnolia Café so you can stay all day at ACL and still find tons of places that are open and ready to serve you at night.
