Apple, Inc announced this week that they are planning on building a $1 billion campus in Austin Texas. The news was certainly more than welcome especially after Austin lost out on luring Amazon.com to build their HQ2 here.

Thankfully, once it’s completed, Apple’s new campus is expected to also bring an additional 5,000 jobs to the city as well and countless other jobs that will result in Apple’s building a new campus in the ATX area.

The decision, announced Thursday, comes 11 months after Apple CEO Tim Cook disclosed plans to open a major office outside California on the heels of a massive tax cut on overseas profits, which prompted the company to bring about $250 billion back to the U.S.
